Sonja Sweater

Sonja Sweater is an oversize sweater knitted from top to bottom in stockinette stitch. First, the upper part of the back is knitted, after which stitches are picked up along the turn-up edge of the back to the shoulders. The shoulders are shaped with turning pins. Front and back pieces are gathered under the armhole, and the body is knitted in the round on circular needle. Along the armholes, stitches are picked up for sleeves, which are knitted in the round. Finally, stitches are picked up along the neck opening, where a bent rib edge is knitted, which is knitted down to the wrong side. Sonja Sweater is assembly-free.

Sonja Sweater should have room to move ( positive ease) of approximately 30 cm in the smallest sizes but progressively smaller in the larger sizes. The sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) correspond to a chest measurement measured on your own body of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 ( 100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are given on the front of the pattern. Note: These measurements only apply if the knitting tension is observed. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit you best. If, for example, you measure 90 cm around the chest (or the widest part of your body), you should knit a size S. A sweater in size S has an excess of 120 cm and, in the example mentioned, will provide a room for movement ( positive ease ) of 30 cm.
