Organic Pima cotton from CaMaRose has fibers that are so long and fine that it has to be picked by hand to prevent it from getting tangled. The fibers have an almost silky sheen and result in a delicate and soft cotton yarn. The long fibers mean that the yarn does not have to be twisted so many times and thereby maintains a wonderful softness.
The extra long fibers are therefore part of the group of cottons called ELS (extra long staple).
Pima cotton also has higher strengths and durability than almost any other cotton, and is also more resistant to shrinking and fading.

Due to the softness of pima cotton, it is very suitable for baby, children's and adult knitwear, or others who prefer cotton to wool.

There is also a LOT of cotton on the market that becomes hard after washing, but here too the pima cotton stands out in that it remains soft, wash after wash. So if you have a cotton scare and haven't tried Organic Pima cotton, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Pima cotton holds up very well in use and in the wash and does not become hard when it is washed. We would recommend washing the finished knitted item at 30-40 degrees.
