Celeste Sweater Junior is knitted from the top down with a round yoke. First, the neckline is knitted, and then the yoke is knitted in the round in pattern with 5 different colors according to the diagram. Reverse rows are knitted after the pattern of the yoke to knit the back higher and thus create a good fit. The body and sleeves are knitted in the round in stocking stitch and both are finished with a rib edge.
Please note that pattern knitting often requires a needle size 0.5-1 mm thicker than solid color stocking stitch. Therefore, make a knitting sample in both pattern knitting and solid color stocking stitch before you start.
Size guide
Celeste Sweater Junior should have room to move ( positive ease) of approx. 15-19 cm in relation to the chest measurement. The sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-12) 12-14 years correspond to a chest measurement of approx. 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (78) 82 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are given on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the knitting tension is observed). If, for example, the child measures 56 cm around the chest, you should knit a size 3-4 years. A sweater in size 3-4 years has an upper width of 73 cm and will in the example given provide a positive ease of movement of 17 cm. If the measured chest measurement deviates from the age guide, you should be aware of adjusting the lengths to the person you are knitting for. The same applies if the child is shorter/taller than average.
